America is such a mobile nation |

It occurs to me that one facet of American society is how mobile we are. Though I have never been west of Oklahoma City (except for a honeymoon in Vegas, which we flew to out of Detroit), I've driven to Montreal, then back to Saginaw by way of Albany; spent two weeks driving through the southeast out of Bradenton, Florida (about 3100 miles elapsed on the odometer) and driven a twenty-year-old Chevy van from Saginaw to Oklahoma City and back in four days -- flat -- with one night in Oklahoma City. There's also an overnighter to Harrisonburg, Illinois in a black-on-black Corvette convertible with my long-lost buddy, Crash. Discretion dictates I keep the most interesting details of that trip off such a public board as DU and out of the eyes of Agent Mike. So what great road adventures have you had? John It is now 28 days, 22 hours and 15 minutes to FUNDAY. If you drive to Saginaw, I promise you a great adventure. Davsand is coming for the third time -- and she iives 400 miles from here. See you June 18. And read the thread in the Michigan forum.

1. My husband and I had one interesting road trip; it lasted several weeks. |

There were several places here in the western US that we wanted to see, so we decided to drive. We planned the trip out very carefully, and made hotel/motel reservations ahead of time. We don't like to drive into an unknown town at 4 pm and have no idea where to stay, or where is good...
My friends were worried about how my husband and I would get along on the road...We CAN be prickly from time to time! We did have a couple of arguments that helped sort out our different driving styles...We took my car, so I did most of the driving, by my choice.
We had a blast. When we got home, and I went back to work, my friends told me that they had envisioned a newspaper headline, as follows: HUSBAND DUMPS WIFE IN DESERT AFTER HEATED ARGUMENT...
It didn't happen...
