Poll question: Tom Jones - green, green grass of home
Edited on Sun May-22-05 02:31 AM by RagingInMiami
During my cross country road trip last year from arizona back to Miami, I listened to this song and I totally dug it.

What do you guys think?

2. I never really cared for it until I was driving across the Texas desert
After living from Miami more than ten years. That was when I suddenly understood the significance of the "green, green grass of home".

6. The thing about Tom Jones is he can take ANY song and make
it his own. He's been prolific in the recording dept.

You wanna hear a great interpretation of a song, listen to his version of Motherless Child on his Reload CD.

7. My brother loved Tom Jones..

And I remember him playing it over and over when it came out; the guy is amazing; a real, honest to goodness, entertainer/song interpretor.

What years was his variety show on? I remember the giant "Tom" sign that he walked out behind and started singing "It's Not Unusual"...

edit: Mr. Typo strikes again..

I saw him just last year. I try to catch him whenever he's in town. He's still an awesome singer.

9. Johnny Cash used to sing that one
He especially liked to play it before a "captive" audience....
