Episode II is worse than I remember.
Edited on Sun May-22-05 06:44 PM by Bouncy Ball
It's on TV now (don't know which channel) and GAWD the dialogue makes me freaking CRINGE.

It's sooooo horrible.

Oh and Haydyn (sp?) Christenson (sp?) may have been ok in Episode III, but he sucks ass in this one.

1. We only lasted through about twenty minutes of it.
We rented it and returned it mostly unwatched.

Just awful.

2. Yeah, I'm a starwars fanatic
and love all the movies, but the acting and dialogue in Episode II leave much to be desired, to say the least.

3. It's a CGI stinker.
The acting is terrible and it's so busy with CGI effects that it distracts from the story.

12. But we need to be happy for Mr. Lucas!
THAT was why he waited 16 years before continuing his saga with Episode 1!

Pretty f/x could ooh and ahh in 1977. Doesn't fly so well today.

It was cack in 2002. It's cack now.

5. Episode II is worse than Episode I.
The dialogue and acting are about as bad as it gets, and that's saying something. Not only that, but after the first watch, the story and the battle scenes are even boring. I mean, c'mon, how bad does something have to be for the BATTLE scenes to be boring on repeated viewing? OY.

7. I don't know
Little Anakin and JarJar were pretty damn annoying in the "Phantom" Menace although the acting was better than "Attack of the Clones."

I tried my best to block out that painful memory.

6. I had to turn it. That sucker is just too painful to watch or even just
listen to. The acting is all so stiff.

8. I understand they wanted the characters to sound proper, but...
at least use vernacular English. OK, I'm not saying Mace Windu has to say, "I'm going to whup your ass!" but something like, "The time for stupid rhetoric is over. You waste words. Now you end!"

Not as good as I expected. For Star Wars, it was a C. For all film, an A-. The first was an A, and I bet I'll think episode III is an A+.

11. I think of it as an artwork....
...but understand those who may differ with me. It's ok :)

You see, I'm a SW pure of heart, and appreciate all the dings some may see as irritating. I look at the big picture!

Probably why I've managed to stay married 36 years, and yes, we're still a work in progress too.

Interesting how Star Wars affects us, huh :)

14. Christenson was hands down the worst thing about Clones.
He pretty much took that picture down. It's a testament to the action that the thing is watchable at all.

Episode 2 had the best actions scenes of any Star Wars film, IMO.

I'll be interested in watching it for the second time tonight to see if my impressions have changed.

15. He didn't take that picture down.....
Listen to the soundtrack, which is amazing. And, it will lift your spirits too :)

Lucas has a method to his casting madness, and these actors did just fine with the Green Screen. Bet that made ya want to see it again :)

17. I watched it again.
I'll stand by my statement that Christenson's performance really hurts AOTC. The scenes with him and Portman are just brutal. I've heard he's much better in Sith but I'm seeing it tomorrow.

McGregor was worse than I'd remembered. He suffers the most by the bad dialogue, IMO.

That film is worth watching just for the moment when Yoda throws away his walking stick and, like an aged gunslinger, whips out his lightsaber...

18. What about Natalie Portman?
She's supposed to be the "next big thing" in acting, but here, she was ATROCIOUS!

"I...truly....deeply...love you..." :puke:

OTOH, she is ssssssssssmokin' HOT! :wow: B-)

19. She was bad
and the dialogue between her and Anakin was utterly puke-inducing. That relationship really doesn't make any sense anyway: the hot teenage girl falls for a much younger boy she met when he was a crying brat toddler, even though Ewan McGregor is right there waving his lightsaber around? Somehow, I doubt it...
