you voted for another talentless blowbag fuckwad nothing on American Idol.

Yes, America, it's true - you value style and fakery over talent and substance every fucking time.

Fuck you.

just a bunch of pretty boys and girls warbling drivel like 'aint no mountain high enough" off key

i swear, this decade has done the impossible-beaten the 70s for worst music ever

Both the rockers were quite talented. The second place finisher, though was not quite as good as the one that got booted weeks ago.

thus, the default of one was assumed.

13. Ewwwwwwwww
Although tonight, when she did that duet with flippy nellzell or whatever the hell his name is, she sounded great - and their voices together was stunning! Even so, though, she was all style. She didn't sound at all original.

Even the way she was standing as they awaited the annoucement of who won - she stood like a fucking prairie beauty queen who has really never been trained how to act like a proper lady, just a fake.

15. I think so too!
They just need to give her some stage presence. But that's what I think is so cool and good about IDOL. Carrie is just a down home girl with a great voice, who went off to fulfill a dream. Yes, she may not be the best performer on stage (yet) but she'll get there.

She has talent and a great voice and she'll be a great country star.

Britain's stars shine for Europe
By Jason Nisse
22 May 2005

Ten British-based business people have been named among the 25 Stars of Europe by American magazine BusinessWeek. However, only five of them are actually British, showing the international nature of the UK business community.

Among the more predictable names in the list are Sir Terry Leahy, chief executive of Tesco; BT boss Ben Verwaayen; and Nigel Newton, who signed JK Rowling for Bloomsbury Publishing. More surprising are Andrew Black and Ed Wray, the co-founders of Betfair.com; and Simon Fuller, the pop impresario whose American Idol TV competition was won this year by Carrie Underwood.

27. I felt an obligation to art to watch the final tonight
I also watched the penultimate show last week.

They're fun to watch, because it's great fun ridiculing the performers and especially the fans and the bullshit that the producers make the performers go through.

But they are also EXTREMELY painful to watch because the whole time I"m realizing that 99% of America is watching the show not because of its utter badness, but because they think it's good and that it is important and they get emotionally involved in the assholes who are competing.

That's what helps kill my soul, is that I know most people actually think this shit is good.

28. I am by no means
being elitist about this, I am a die hard Survivor fan so I have absolutely no room to talk. I like to watch the first IDOL shows when it is REALLY terrible but only watch them when my kids are home so I have someone to laugh with.

It gives me the chills to think that this is what our society values. Not that there is not a place for it but damn. I hate that crap.

Good explanation. I was stunned I tell you, STUNNED that you were taking this seriously. *whew*

BTW, it is bullshit what they are made to do. Just think where we would be culturally if we weren't force fed stuff the "producers" thought we should like.

47. I really thought Bo might have had it when Bo..
ended the performances with a bang, singing with Lynyrd Skynyrd. But my prediction was right: Carrie won because of all the times her young fans vote. No wonder she was never in the bottom three. Still, congrats to Carrie: she does have some talent, seems sweet, did a Dixie Chicks song, and is sexy in her own way (you don't need to be a Jessica or Mikalah to be sexy - they are also sexy, but sometimes I go more for the down to earth sexiness.)

A man with substance, passion, and soul loses to a pretty little blonde who can sing one note and hold it for a very long time while standing lifelessly on the same damned spot where she started from.

Bo had long hair and a beard, and looked like a "hippie."

Carrie was a pretty blonde female whose marketable face will look good on kids' products.
