I just got rear-ended.
:( On my lunch break, I was driving to the bank, stopped at a light & got smacked in the rear. Barely any damage to my bumper, but my head took a beating. Instant headache.

It's cool, though. Things could be much worse. :)

2. That's scary
I'm glad you aren't too hurt - but are you going to see a doctor? Sometimes a bump on the head seems like nothing, but they say to get it checked out anyway.

Don't know if I'll get it checked out - I probably should. I popped a couple Excedrin.

11. Please don't give a recorded statement to the other guy's insurance
company. You might get a phone call saying you need to do that, but contact YOUR insurance company to see if that is necessary. It probably isn't. You also don't want to tell them that you weren't injured.

14. You should get a medical opinion on the "instant headache", Jessica.
Edited on Thu May-26-05 02:05 PM by bobthedrummer
Don't talk to the insurance people either. You got a blow to the head out of this person running into you. Have it checked out.

16. Get it checked...
Get it checked, get it checked, get it checked. I was in a car accident a year ago, and "macho man" that I was, I refused medical attention, even after an ambulance was called, because I thought I was "fine" at the time. Now, I suffer from almost-nightly neck and back pain. I'm sure you don't want that.

18. Jessica, I think you should go to the doctor.
You have a really good reason for leaving work early, I think. Even if it's only a precautionary visit. I'm no doctor, but having been rear-ended once (without visible damage to the car), I can tell you some things- my pain didn't begin til a few hours later, my body was in shock at the time, and later I would have loved to have some painkillers handy. I hope this doesn't become the case with you.

Keep us posted. Good luck to you!

:hi:

19. Thanks ... to you & everone
for the concern. I didn't hit my head on the steering wheel - Just the back of my seat ... pretty hard, though. Didn't even know what had happened at first. I get off in a half hour - think I'll go then.

Again, thanks to you all.
