1. Not if you like to watch paint dry.
I never got to the end of a book he wrote as I always fell asleep.

2. Only if you read what he wrote. Otherwise,
he hasn't annoyed anyone in years.

4. I keep reading the first 50 pages of
Recherche au Temps Perdu ... and not going anywhere with it.... so I'd have to agree with your general sentiment, although I'm not sure "annoying" is the word I'd choose.....

9. I read it too (first volume)
I enjoyed it but the run on sentences can get on your nerves.

11. Keep reading, it's worth it

Once you get past the getting ready for bed and the place names stuff and into the story of Swann and the other characters it is more interesting. Personally, I loved it. It's a magnificient work of literature and I think it's sad and quite frankly freeperish when people bash it. Don't listen to them. If you appreciate great works of literature, read on.

7. Proust in his first book wrote about, wrote about
Proust in his first book wrote about, wrote about
Proust in his first book wrote about, wrote about,

Time - Thanks for playing. Alas the chorus was unable to summarize even one book by Proust.
