14. Blame Saul Alinksy, Howard Zinn, and SEIU.
I became more liberal after college when I started reading people like the above and got to know some very smart left wingers left over from the 60's. I became a full blown radical due to Bush and his wars. It caused me to learn more about how things really work and reject all the conventional wisdom we are taught to believe.

20. I'm so thankful for Howard Zinn.
His writings have brought me a lot of ideas and inspiration.

Saul Alinksy wrote Reveille for Radicals and Rules for Radicals. His definition of what it means to be a radical is why I call myself one. He's also known as the father of modern community organizing techniques. He's worth checking out. It's a shame he gets so little recognition, but I suspect that is intentional.

45. Why weren't Hansel & Gretel's parents arrested for child-endangering?
Edited on Sat May-28-05 01:54 AM by Old Crusoe
The stepmother strong-armed the father to dump the two kids in the deep woods where surely wolves would devour them if they didn't starve to death first.

Now that just isn't very nice.

So why didn't the police come to their house and bust the door down like they do on the COPS show on Fox and arrest them?

good times, good times.
If you've ever read Reveille for Radicals by Saul Alinksy the first chapter gives his definition of a radical. That's me. I'm a radical because I believe in the ability of the people to govern themselves and work to make that happen.
Is that a little picture of you in your avatar?
