Get a free CD of modern percussion music -
http://cantaloupemusic.com/freesampler/

I just bought SO Percussion's new recording of Reich's "Drumming" and it had an advert for this free CD of music from Bang on a Can, SO Percussion, and others.

1. Thank you.
I love Reich and I love Bang on a Can. I ordered Decasia from them and have been on their email list ever since.

Oh My Fucking God, it looks as though Decasia is now available on DVD. There's the first item on June's luxury budget for me.

2. Do you like it?
Have you heard the "Constructions" for percussion by John Cage? I recently saw one performed and was awestruck.

6. The recording of "Drumming", you mean?
It's phenomenal!

I've not heard Constructions, at least not that I remember.

I discovered, after finally seeing some Cage performances, that listening to Cage on albums really sucks in comparison, so I don't listen to him at all often. Though I might very well have a copy of Constructions on vinyl somewhere in the collection.

:-)

7. The instrumentation alone
is interesting. Watching percussion sometimes is what makes it for me but I do love it any way I can listen to it (she says after raising a percussionist). I miss it.

3. would this be considered spam?
I know Rabrrr is a long time poster, but the way it is worded seems like spam to me

4. Since I am in no way related to any of these people or the company
then no, it isn't spam.

5. It's a person passing along information of interest to friends.
It's not for his own personal gain. Just a tip for friends.
