The Elegant Universe on PBS tonight
Tonight in most regions that is.

NOVA: The Elegant Universe
Could strings be holding the universe together?
Examine a radical "theory of everything."
A Theory of Everything?
In this excerpt from his book The Elegant Universe, Brian
Greene explains why string
theory might hold the key to unifying the four forces of
nature.

6. Alright....intermission
I have to say I'm pretty skeptical about all of this. It's all more or less believable up to the QM part.

7. Quantum Mechanics
is a very well tested theory (your computer would not work without quantum mechanics). It is string theory that is not well tested since no one can figure out how to make testable predictions.

9. Right.
Except when you test it up against gravity, apparently.
