Too harsh?
I feel that many people think I'm too opinionated and not sensitive enough. As much as I like the news links I can get here at DU, sometimes the bleeding hearts can really make me want to slap a little reality into people. Stop all the culture-of-victim, we're-all-the-same, how-dare-you-make-light-of-our-differences B.S.

Anyone else?

I like to have fun and most jokes are based on the difference between human beliefs and behaviors. Calm down, crybabies.

2. Mugweed, I can't speak to the entire body of your DU posts.
I base my responses on whether or not people like Joni Mitchell.

If you like Joni Mitchell, I'm with ya, bud.

If you don't, I'll kick your ass!

:)

4. Ouch...
She's good. A long time ago I made the decision that while people stated that "life is too short to" blah blah blah, life is actually too long to tolerate things with which I don't agree (after careful and objective consideration) for the rest of mine. It seems this attitude is not welcome here.

I don't hold back what I really feel and that seems to cause a problem. Diplomacy and tact are obstacles to the truth. I'm not a freep or redneck or whatever most reactionaries here may tag me. I work very hard to help our society, starting at the levels most affected by industrial pollution. I'm just "prickly", as my employers put it. I guess I'm a prick.

6. I invoked Joni Mitchell as a prop. (Sorry, Joni.) Trying to say that --
-- I generally read a post on a one-by-one basis, then respond if I have a question or comment or consideration.

I'm certainly not in the position of judging you unless you post something like, "Anyone who votes for _____ is an idiot," and I've just spent X amount of hours for weeks volunteering for that candidate. You'd be as offended at me if I did the same thing to you.

A fair chance for all is pretty sound policy. The range of disagreements is often less than the style of disagreement. I disagree with Dick Lugar, but I can't STAND Dick Cheney. Ideologically, they're not radically different, but wow, those styles are miles apart.

So by and large, I think folks should take posts one-by-one and go from there.

3. Are you complaining about it?
Are you complainin'?

Well?

And that "bleeding heart" thing ... what do you have against Jesus, anyway? That's where it comes from. Jesus. And you hate Jesus, don't you?

Too many crybabies? Is that what you're sayin'? Is it? Well, who's cryin' now? I ain't cryin'.

I don't see anybody else here, so it's gotta be you.

Too tough for you, eh, crybaby? Yeah, that's what I'm callin' you. Crybaby.

Mama's boy.

Yellabelly.

Punks like you who can't take a little liberal activism. Punks like you who come all undone the moment some real, honest-to-goodness liberal activism goes down.

Wanna complain? Wanna complain? I'll give ya somethin' to complain about.

You wanna complain about somethin'? My dog doesn't get enough liver. And it's because of snot-nose, too-good-for-my-own-shit punks like you.

So what am I gonna tell my dog? That he has to live like a second-class animal because punks like you want to deny him liver in his diet?

My fuckin' dog ain't got enough liver, and you're cryin' like a little schoolgirl.

Sheesh. Some people. Let me tell ya. Some people.

5. Your dog can have mine.
It's almost used up anyway. Hey, wait a minute...crap. That's not my liver! It's my bile! Take it, all of you, and choke on it. For this is the bile of my spleen.

7. Well
I haven't seen many out and out bleeding hearts on DU. There are a few.

From the other side of the coin, it's easy to make light of the "culture-of-victim" if you're a white male with money in the family and a good job. Is that the case? Hmm?
