The Coyote dashed across the road
in front of my car. "Wow' I think "That is a big fox." Then I realize it is a Coyote. His long nose is pointed straight ahead, his ears laid back and tail stretched full length behind him. He disappears into the brush.

I hear a faint "Beep Beep."

Western N.Y. State. Only Coyote I have ever seen.

Except for the "Beep Beep" suggested by Jitterbug this is a true story.

3. They were reintroduced to attempt controlling the deer population.......
... in the Catskills.

I've seen two Coyote carcases on the shoulder of the Thruway this year.

4. We have many deer here also.
I have a friend living in the area where I saw the Coyote. He says there is a den in the wild area behind his house. This is country land that I speak of.

7. bear, porcupine, fox
They all visit my back yard. I have neighbors very near by so I'm certainly not out in the country. However ~ I am at the foot of Overlook Mountain.

8. I am on the shore of Lake Erie.
We shore dwellers have driven most of the animals off to the south of us. We have killed most of the snakes, frogs, salamanders crayfishes, fishes, forest lands and all that makes country life interesting.

You are in beautiful country I bet.

10. It is beautiful here!
I was over in that area a few years ago at The Starwood Festival.

I didn't realize that the wildlife devastation was so severe. I'm truly sorry to hear that. Our Eco System is too fragile for us to calmly watch anything become extinct from its natural habitat.

9. They are everywhere, like roaches
You don't see them much because they are really shy and fast. I saw one at dusk one night right next to the elementary school in a busy suburban neighborhood.
