My dog jumped in a lake. Just like that.
I said to him "would you go jump in a lake just because all the other dogs did it first?"... he just stared at me and wagged his tail...

1. The first time we took our dog
to a lake he just trotted out on the little dock and stepped right off the end. Came bobbing up with this WTF look in his eyes.

5. weird. I was just telling GOPisEvil that my lab doesn't like water
I have no idea why my lab doesn't like water...I'm afraid all the other labs will start making fun of him.

the other two loved to swim and get wet.. Our yellow lab, Blanca hated water, and would howl when we bathed her:)

10. He is almost 13 and never swam till 2 years ago
He found a old duck decoy which had been used by hunters. He started carrying it around everywhere, occasionally setting it down to pee on it. After a while it became pretty disgusting so I named it "smelly duck" and decided to throw it in the lake in the woods where I walk him. Well, he threw himself in after it, like he was saving it! That was the first time he'd ever gone in except for a little wading. After that "smelly duck" lived at the woods, so all the other dogs could play with him until he finally disintegrated.

I try to control whether he goes for a swim or not since he is a very long haired dog, and it takes a long time for him to dry. Today its warm out and he just went in the lake at a place I would rather he didn't (kinda muddy)- just being a dog, I guess!

11. My sister's Lab swims with me every day
She LOVES to jump into our little pool-- it's only 18' across, and she climbs the steps and takes a flying leap and ends up almost on the other side. She loves that splash!
