My cat basically ignores me - until I sit down
at the computer. She's all over me right now. She's being very sweet - but damn! Plus, when she gets really happy, she drools ... x(

She must like DU. Must be a democat. :)

1. You aren't the only one

I think Pad Thai fancies himself as a DU moderator.

3. He's so cute ...
Allie insist I pet her w/ my mouse-clicking hand. Think she must be experiencing computer envy. What a weirdo. She also glares a hole straight through me when I talk on the phone.

Can't imagine how she'll be if I ever have kids.

:hi:

2. Abbott is horrible when I'm at the computer
He can't jump up on me because my chair is pulled into the desk and he would have to get over the armrests. Just a little out of his reach.

So he'll stand up his hind legs and start meowing and batting the chair until I pick him up and let him on my lap.

And mind you, this isn't some tiny cat - this is 16 pounds of solid big boned Tom cat (and doc says that's a good weight for him). And again, because of my chair - he doesnt' sit on my lap he's either sitting on my chest (my chair is always leaning back) or my arm (nothing like 16lbs sleeping on your arm!)

Evita could care less - she's not a lap cat at all.

5. I love big cats ...
And they seem to usually be the ones who want on your lap. I always have to wash my face after getting on the computer - cause Allie rubs her face on mine.

Must. Have. All. The. Attention.

6. And to make things worse - Abbott drools
I mean, he doesn't walk around drooling all the time, but when he's on my lap he's so fricking happy the drool just comes pouring out of his mouth.

My tee-shirt is now coated in cat drool

4. That lap time is pretty important for a cat. Remember their lifespan
is only about 1/5th of ours. Whenever my cat used to climb up on my lap
when I got home from work I tried to remember that one hour was probably the high point of his day. I never realized how important it was also to me until he died and wasn't around anymore at the end of the day.

7. You're right.
Did you get another cat?

I definitely give her the time she needs - even when it's not a very good time for me. When she's in a sweet mood, I take advantage of it -- because as we all know, cats can't be forced into a good mood when we're finally ready.

:)

9. We had 2 cats and this cat (Watson) had kinda bonded with the old
guy with the hair that matched his fur (gray). His buddy is still around but is mostly my daughter's cat but is not a "lapper". We're still on the lookout now for someone to replace his buddy-but as you know all cats are as different as people!

10. Yeah...mine wants to be ignored.
That is, until you sit down at the computer, pick up a book...basically if you want to do something that doesn't involve her.

11. Cats are so cool
Lily is my cat who is a member of "Cats against literacy". Sometimes I like to lie on my stomach and read before I go to bed. But usually I have ticked cat fur to read around.

12. My new kitten is sleeping on the computer desk right now, he took
to the computer right away.

I named him Dell, he also likes to help me type.

I took to the vet for his first shots today, from the size of his paws and legs my Dell is going to be large cat.
