'THE HULK'..........meh
Just rented it. The biggest concern of the Hulk looking fake, was not much of one. He was fine. He looked real but sounded awful. That's what blew the illusion for me was his weak ass 'Rooooaaar' It should have sounded almost inhuman. The T-Rex in Jurrasic Park comes to mind.

The split screens and the panels were exhausting and annoyed me after awhile.

The 'psychological' drama playing out between the characters was way overdone. I screamed out 'Shut Up' several times during the excruciatingly long scenes of dialogue and exposition. Nick Nolte's character was completely unsympathetic and the action wasn't nearly enough to hold up the uninteresting drama.

So overall, I'll give it a...meh.

1. I really liked the split screens and panels
I thought it was an interesting style, and made it have more of a comic book feel than it otherwise would have.

3. I don't think Nick Nolte's character was supposed to be sympathetic
He was the evil father who only cared about his science.

I basically agree with your synopsis of the movie, however, I thought the Hulk was a little too fake, especially in the beginning of the movie.

Plus, for a 2 and a half hour movie, you'd expect more than three extended scenes of the Hulk doing stuff.

Oh, and don't bother buying the DVD like I did. The special features suck and the deleted scenes are basically scenes that any first year film school grad would have cut out of the movie.
