Actually it was a cat I had awhile ago and lost in my divorce. The wife was gonna send it to the pound because it was shitting everywhere. I went and had a look at their house and the reason he was shitting everywhere is because his litter box was rarely changed and huge piles of old clothes were everywhere. He had been scenting the clothes for territorality and decided they made a perfectly good litter box.
I cleaned up the entire mess (about 6 hours) and brought him home with me. All four cats are sulking in various parts of the house when they're not snarling at each other.

that is so nice and his is back home where he belongs. They all may have to refigure the territory though. Wish you and the kitties the best.
