Poll question: When I shop in any store I want to hear....What kind of Music? |
|
Edited on Sat Jun-04-05 05:50 PM by KoKo01
I can't go anywhere today without hearing Fox Station blaring out their news and their chosen music. I know it's Fox because they break in for the news and they identify themselves. One grocery store has the same exact line-up of songs but they identify CNN as their news source.
What annoys me is that if you are in a store at the same time of day any day of the week you hear the SAME SONG? Anyone else notice this? So, I'm doing a poll.
What kind of music makes you feel good when you shopping for groceries, clothing, sports stuff, etc.

i want the music to scare away the majority of humanity away. i'm sick of mundanes. yoko ono screaming into the mike while they play nails on a chalkboard is my fair. oh yeah, and there better be feedback. if prim and prude RW SUV soccer mom can walk in with their hell spawn and not be scared out in under 7 seconds, it isn't my type of ideal store.

Like they used to play in malls and in the supermarket - like from the Stepford Wives.
It's perfect for shopping. I like pop & rock in my car and in my house, but not when shopping. Nothing drives me out of a store and prevents me from purchasing anything like REALLY LOUD MUSIC (unless it's a record store).

Plays the most righteous mix of lost 80s and 90s tunes -- I'm talking about like "Walk the Dinosaur," and "Church of the Poison Mind," type stuff. I used to LOVE it.

Although classical, easy listening, oldies or a pop mix would be acceptable to me. What gets to me is that the mall in my area has a serious country fixation :puke:. The funny thing is this mall is predominantly frequented by blacks...at least 60% of their clientel--and they play all country. :wtf:

Purple Harem, The Four Tops, The Supremes, Buddy Holly... even later stuff like Van Morrison, The Band, The Guess Who...
Makes me think happy stuff. When I'm shopping I want to feel happy and upbeat... same thing with doing laundry. Since my washer crapped out on me last winter and the landlord won't replace it (long story), I've had to go to the laundrymat... but I kind of like it because they play oldies while I'm watching people's clothes go round and round. It's an all night laundry place, and since I'm a night worker/day sleeper, I'm often the only one in there doing wash in the wee hours of the morning... and, yes, I dance around and jam while waiting for the spin cycle to end.
Same for the grocery store. Nothing like shopping in the wee hours listening to oldies... jamming in the toilet paper aisle, dancing past the soaps and shampoos, taking my time excessively fondling the fruits, reading all the magazines I have no interest in buying... I love shopping with the oldies at night.
But in the car I need good road rage music... System of a Down, Coal Chamber, Disturbed, Shovelhook, Ozzy, Metallica... makes for good scrubbing the toilet music too.
