6. Piggies! Reminds me of bu$h/repugs |
|
Have you seen the little piggies Crawling in the dirt And for all the little piggies Life is getting worse Always having dirt to play around in.
Have you seen the bigger piggies In their starched white shirts You will find the bigger piggies Stirring up the dirt Always have clean shirts to play around in.
In their styes with all their backing They don't care what goes on around In their eyes there's something lacking What they need's a damn good whacking.
Everywhere there's lots of piggies Living piggy lives You can see them out for dinner With their piggy wives Clutching forks and knives to eat their bacon.

"Hey Jude" popped into my head first. I was singing it on the way to work.
But next, a little ditty from the white album you don't hear much:
"Why don't we do it in the road."

I could listen to that over and over, just for the subtle changes in the instrumentation from verse to verse. A low-key masterpiece.

but she doesn't have a lot to say. I imagine she's a pretty nice girl, but she changes from day to day. I wanna tell her that I love her a lot, but I got to get a bellyfull of wine. I imagine she's a pretty nice girl, some day I'm gonna make her mine, oh yeah, some day I'm gonna make her mine.

52 years old and never knew I had it wrong. Well, I think I'm in good company - Everybody I know thinks it's the way I heard it, too. Geez. Gosh. I'm chagrined. Like it better my way. Won't get it out of my mind for the next couple of days, now, right or wrong.

37. "In My Life" keeps running through my head because of |
|
the fires in San Diego -
"There are places I remember, all my life, though some have changed some forever not for better, some have gone, and some remain, all these places have their moments, with lovers and friends, I still can recall, . . "
"My" mountains are burning. Some of the places I went hiking and camping in for decades are now destroyed. I'm really worried about my favorite trail right now. Judging by what I've been seeing on CNN and the direction the fire burned, it's probably gone. I only hope they can stop it before it gets to Palomar. I was going to call my mom this morning to see if she's heard whether or not they were able to save Julian. This SUCKS!!
I know I shouldn't care when so many people have lost their homes but I have so many memories of those mountains. They were a very special place to me. I can only try to be happy that they will grow back healthier I guess.

My heart goes out to you, and everyone who has some kind of ties to southern California. My oldest friend and his wife live in San Diego, and I have not heard the latest on how their place is affected. We have so many DUers there, we need updates however we can get them.
Sending love and good vibes your way, and to all DUers with their hearts or homes in southern California.

It's so hard watching the news and seeing these familiar places going up in smoke. My parents were on evacuation alert a few days ago but didn't end up having to leave. They live in Rancho Bernardo (Bernardo Heights) and said they seem to be out of danger for the moment.

When you are as much a Beatles freak as am i, there is no way to separate. So, i just hear bits and pieces of all of them in my head. Yeah, it's a bit confusing that way. The Professor
On Edit: Since my band rehearsed last night for an upcoming benefit, i've really got "If I Needed Someone" and "Think For Yourself" in my head. We're doing those at the benefit.
