My kitty cat passed on tonight.
I just wanted to let you guys know that Mickey passed away tonight. He fought like hell, but he held on long enough for us to say good-bye.

I want to thank all you wonderful people for your prayers and thoughts. You're all very wonderful people. I was hoping that we'd have a happy ending for a change. But it was his time. He's a peace and I thank God for giving me this wonderful gift. He was a wonderful part of life and he kept my sprits up when I needed them.

Thank you all again.

RKM

My thoughts are with you.
His spirit lives on. He's with you.
**************************************

A poem I found for you:

Rainbow Bridge
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to some-
one here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows
and hills for all our special friends so they can run and
play together. There is plenty of food, water, and sunshine
and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who have been ill and old are restored to health
and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong
again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times
gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small
thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be
left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when
one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are
intent; his eager body begins to quiver. Suddenly, he begins to run
from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him
faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend
finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to
be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your
hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more
into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your
life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together...

-- Anon. --

10. Sending good vibes your way
I have four kitties. One of them, Boo Boo, my black beast, is 18. He's like a little old man, but he eats like crazy and still sleeps on my head. He's been a part of my family for a long time and it's difficult to think of saying goodbye. I truly believe as long as we carry love for someone, whether on two legs or four legs or two wings, they never really leave us.

Condolences. I'm very sorry for your loss.

Peace,

RV

45. Gee, Ronny --
Condolences from here, and headbutts from the Southern Ohio Porch Cat contingent. Though he no longer shared my house, I lost my first cat earlier this year.

My first husband and I had a tough old tomcat we called Norman Bates (long story) who, when the marriage split, went with him. That was in '95 or thereabouts and Bates just shuffled off this mortal coil around the first of the year. My ex did a kickass job of keeping the cat alive -- he had one tooth in his head and had fought a thyroid problem for nearly seven years. The ex always sent me photos about once a year, and it was clear the cat was happy even though he couldn't keep his weight up. I don't know if he died or was gently escorted out, not that it matters to me either way -- my ex was kind to him and kept him alive for a long time, but right up to the last pictures he sent, the cat didn't look miserable. He was 18 1/2 years old. If that cat is resting in peace right now, he's miserable, so I hope for his sake, he isn't!

I missed Bates so much that when I remarried, Mr. Nownow and I got another cat right off. Which has ended up being four cats. We found two of them, the other two found us. I don't ever intend to live in a house without at least one cat in it -- I spent the three years between my marriages seeing a cat in the corner of my eye, even when I knew damned well there wasn't one there.

having been there myself just a few weeks ago, I know exactly what you're going through.

The only thing that seemed to help me a little was just getting out of the house. I went away for a week and that helped some; just not being in the empty house. It's still really hard though.

I'm sending word for Rocky to look out for Mickey :-) . I'm sure though they miss us, they both are enjoying running and playing without any pain.

I'm still not over losing Fluffy about a month ago. I know how raw the pain can be.

Bless Mickey in his new place as he waits for you at Rainbow Bridge.

71. That means so much.
I know I'll see him again one day.

And he'll be waiting to take a bite out of my arm like he loved to do so much.

75. Yes, of course.
The stripes are more noticeable in the 2nd picture (at least to my unobservant eyes!). He's almost a twin to my little Esther. Her face is a little rounder, but otherwise they have the same markings. When I get home tonight, I will give Esther a little extra loving and treats, in Mickey's honor.

77. I'm so sorry
I know how you feel. How old was your cat? I lost mine this past Saturday and she was 17. I wish I could give you hug and we can both cry. Will you bury her or have her creamated and put in a little cedar box to have always? I'm sending you a cosmic hug. It's so sad when you lose a pet and you come home and they're not there to meow and purr at you.

78. Thank you Sequoia
I was thinking about you the other day. When I read about your baby, I was in the middle of Mickey being sick, so I know where you're at as well.

Mickey was only 10 years old. He had kidney problems that were glossed over by our previous vet a few months ago. We are having him creamated, since we live in a condo there isn't a place where we can bury him. My partner lost his cat few months before I met him and we're going to keep their ashes in some sort of boxes. We'll find something nice.

I'm sending you out a cosmic hug as well. It's a hard time for a lot of us. I've noticed so many threads about pets. It's good to talk about them and remember. He hasn't been out of my thoughts one second today. I've been checking this thread off and on today and every time I read it, I mist up again.

These were taken just a few months ago. I can still feel his paw in my hand. He and I were chillin' on the sofa one lazy afternoon.

82. What a gorgeous kitty!
I know how much this hurts. We have our beautiful girlcat Zorina's ashes in a little shrine, and every morning my daughter says goodbye to our surviving kitty, our dog, and to Zorina.

We miss her so much, and yet, I feel sometimes her spirit is still with us.

Peace and healing to you-

lb

I know Mick's spirit is with me. He was such a huge part of my life. I know he's gonna look down at me while I sleep, look at my arm and say "I'm gonna bite that"!
