A word I'm throughly sick of: "embedded" |
|
It was bad enough hearing that word ad nauseum during the Iraq war.
On CNN a while back, I actually heard one of the anchors mention that a reporter was "embedded" in the Dean campaign. What about a reporter "with" the Dean campaign? Are the news shows now in love with the word "embedded"?
Ok, part of this has to do with not having any coffee yet, but still...

2. Yea, it has been overused |
|
Words go in cycles of being in or out of fashion, and this one needs to go out of fashion. Same with "meme", I can't stand this word.

8. at least it isn't "imbricated" |

... as in "every pedagogy is imbricated in ideology."
I have to embed Beatles songs in my head to get that stuff to go away!

Sometimes embedded can be a good word, for example:
'Some Irate But Partiotic Citizen Just "embedded" their number 14 boot dead in Bull O'Really's arse!'
Hava nise day!
