Poll question: Favorite bagel? |
|
Edited on Thu Oct-30-03 10:53 AM by forradalom
And a question: Why do they always pack the onion bagels next to the cinnamon-raisin ones???
On edit: Damn, I just got cream cheese on my iBook.

1. I think I am going up to make a bagel |
|
I have blueberry ones mmmmmmm but cinnamon and raison are my favorites. Plus I don't like flavored cream cheese, regular Philadelphia cream cheese is the best.

I hated waking up to the smell that those made while in the toaster.

Oh yes, veggie cream cheese |
|
I was really not much of a bagel & cream cheese fan until I first tasted that stuff. Doesn't really matter what kind of bagel you spread it on (as long as it's not a sweet one), it's just damn good.

There's actually a place on the lower east side in Manhattan that only makes bialys. With some veggie cream cheese....YUUMMM!!! Pure heaven on a plate.

regular cream cheese capers if you've got 'em tomatoes red onions lox Open faced, of course.
And to (well, not really) answer your question: The nice people at the bagel place here, when I bought 3 dozen bagels for work, put the sweet bagels in one box and the non-sweet bagels in another.

I can't count the number of times my cinnamon-raisin bagel had an overpowering aroma of onion. YUCK!

I knew someone was going to be outraged that I omitted their favorite Pomengranate Pimento bagel. I subsumed 'garlic' under 'onion' in order to get a wider sample. I also omitted my favorite, Honey Nut.

14. Garlic! and more garlic! |
|
That's my favorite. A bagel with anything sweet in it, to me, is not a real bagel, that's a donut.
But I can never get enough garlic on my bagels! Yum! Toasted with some veggie cream cheese.

And I never get the cream cheese on my 'puter; the beard catches everything that gets away from the mouth.

Like the ones that virtually every grocery store I've ever shopped at sell.
But if you go to a real bagel shop, they are quite exceptional. Unfortunately, these can be hard to find, especially in certain parts of the country.
