I just got a strange call from my husband.
He says hello and then pauses for a moment. I ask what's wrong. He replies that I might not want to do laundry when I get home. "Why?" I ask. "Well I did not notice there was a pen in with the clothes and there is now blue ink all over all the clothes & the dryer."
I am very proud of myself because I did not laugh at him.
Any great ideas for getting ink off clothes and the inside of a dryer. Men, gotta love um when they try and help.

1. Fingernail polish remover
works well to get ink off the dryer itself. No advice for the clothes however.

8. Isn't it highly flammable?
And shouldn't you be careful if there's a pilot in the dryer?

2. this happened to me with a green pen, and there's no way
the ink stains will stay in the clothes and tho there will be pen marks in the dryer, they shouldn't rub off on future loads.

3. I have no idea on the clothes, but rubbing alcohol should work
On a steel or plastic surface.

4. Hairspray for the clothes...
spray the stains with hairspray and rinse with cold water. Spray it and rinse. Repeat until the ink is gone, and then wash the items. Takes some elbow grease, but it works. I was shocked.

I'm not sure on metal.

5. Hairspray removes ink from clothing
As long as you really soak the ink stains with it before you wash the clothes.

10. Goo Gone
Wipe it out thoroughly with fresh water after it's clean. Make sure you air the dryer out afterwards.

13. Actually I still have alot of dyes left over from my tie-dying days.
I may have to go a little wild this weekend (and maybe dye some clothes).

14. Consider a waterless (lanolin-baseed) hand cleaner
e.g. Goop, Go-Jo, etc. Many similar non-abrasive cleaners are sold at auto parts stores. They work very well on most oil-based inks and will not damage the enamel surface of your dryer drum. Or if that is stainless don't worry about it at all; go ahead and use red fuming nitric acid. (just kidding about the acid)

Check the instructions on a container for how to use it on a load of laundry. I've used it to clean whole piles of rags that were soaked with grease.
