my daughter needs to get an mri, but she doesn't want to take out her many piercings (about 15). she swears that if she takes them out, she will not be able to put them back in. all are at least a couple of months old. i had pierced ears back in the day, and that was not a problem. but she has things like a brow, and a nose that she swears will close. is this true? or is she just giving me a hard time?

1. Tell her to get some plastic spacers... |
|
they usually sell them at piercing places and they might help her insert them.

i figured such a thing must exist. but what do i know. i'm still just a hippy. i think she mostly doesn't want to get in that tube. she has had it done before and didn't like it.

2. Some of them might close up, at least partially. |
|
Certain parts of the face (especially the nose, around the eyes, and anything having to do with the mouth) tend to regenerate cells at an accelerated rate. So she might have a legitimate concern. But yes, plastic spacers are a good idea, and should solve the problem.

4. Contact a GOOD piercer. |

They have dealt with this before.

5. Eyebrow closes up pretty quick... |
|
I had my eyebrow pierced for like two years and when I took it out it closed up in like a day, if that.
Just call up a good piercer and ask what they recommend.
