Is anyone else going to see Def Leppard on tour this summer?
Or are my son and me the only 80s music nerds on DU going to see them?

1. I love Def Leppard, but I haven't heard anything about them coming here
specifically.

I'd consider it if they did. I used to have an enormous crush on Joe Elliot twenty years ago.

2. 1st concert I ever saw. It was the hysteria tour. It was awesome for a
5th grader.

8. My son's going into the sixth grade.
I hope the light show was as great as it was 20 years ago. :D

3. "Pour Some Sugar On Me!"
I'd think about going. I'm not sure if their tour is bringing them near me. My guess is that they would put on a hell of a good show. I always liked Lep Deffelin.

4. lol
I have a professor who is a total metal head...which is very strange because in all other respects he is a complete tight ass. So on every occasion we razz him about his Def Leppard listening mullet wearing past. 80's metal is so much fun! :P

6. If they had remained a hard rock band I may have.
But they slowly devolved into a weak, sappy ballad band since "Pyromania".

13. Yeah, but I don't think my kid's ready for a true...
hard ass metal band. Although I would take him to see Accept if they were still together. :D

14. Tickets have almost sold out at UNO, and it has 10,000 seats.
Can't wait! Wish you lived nearby, and we'd go together. (I still have my 80s parachute pants!) :D

I've still got some silk shirts that were fashionable back then.

17. Yes I do,
My shirts were a blue-ish paisley. Oh those were the days! LOL!
I could never bring myself to get a paisley tie though. But I did have a leisure suit.

Money is too tight right now.
