A friend I made at a DU cookout today

At the home of Godlesscommieprevert, I met this little fellow in the backyard. :)

1. WOW! What a cool spider!

What kind is it?

2. I have no clue :)

It was really tiny though, like maybe 1/4 inch long maybe a bit bigger. I had to get really close and use close-up filters on the camera, then crop it down to this size (it only took up a little space in a full frame picture).

6. I actually shrank it down :). The camera is fairly high resolution

and I was only about 3 inches away when I took the pic :).

But thanks for the compliment :).

That picture is probably 75-80 percent of the original size as it came out of the camera.

7. Actually it was fairly innocuous

It was very tiny and just sitting in it's web with another spider of the same type waiting for some bugs :). The web was super fine and it was out of focus so doesn't even really appear in the photo.

I'd move to Antarctica if I had to, just to avoid those hideous spiders.

12. Cool spider

I pulled one of the ugliest spiders out of my pool last night. I don't have a problem with them or insects normally but this one was huge and lumpy and horribly ugly. My wife would have freaked out if she saw it.
