My computer monitor is on its last legs (help) |

I'm probably going to need a new monitor soon anyway. This piece is 4 years old, but before heading to the store I want to see if it can be saved for a little longer.
The problem: the picture will sometimes just randomly shut off. The monitor itself stays on, and I don't lose any data or anything. The PC stays on as if nothing happened. It doesn't seem to matter what program I am running. The picture shutdown just happens whenever.
Here's the info on the monitor: it's 4 years old, the model is a "Proview", it's 15 inches.
And yes, I have a firewall, 2 anti-bug programs and an anti-viral program, all of which I run regularly, as well as the Disk Cleanup and Disk Defrag.

1. Have you checked the cable connections? |
|
A loosened cable can do just this.
