Not that there's anything wrong with that <heeee>. It's just REALLY far from home (I'm in Calgary). I loved playing licence plate bingo when I was a kid.

Couldn't tell you what province. Now, I'm in MN so it ain't no thing, but, yeah, I enjoy some LPB now and again.

Manitoba. Used to go down to Minnesota all the time when I lived in Winnipeg. MN is Minnesota, right?

4. Well, first of all
Canada is one freaking big country. Southern Ontario is in the middle of an unseasonably warm spring. However, out west here, it's okay. Went to 18 today. And, praise <insert diety of choice here>, no rain or hail.

15. Southern Ontario has thankfully returned to normal
Some wacko storm system came through (actually bringing a few small tornados) and cooled things down. We're supposed to have regular seasonal temps for the next week at least.

8. I see Canuck plates all the time in the summer. But I'm in New England
so it's not that far for tourists from the Maritimes, Quebec, and Ontario to drive. They like our beaches!

12. I still think I'm going to win this game!
A couple of weeks ago, as I was walking to work, this gorgeous Mercedes was stopped at the light. It was right side drive, with plates from....

Hong Kong!

This rich guy had shipped his freaking car over to Calgary! I'm just bitter because I either have to walk or take the bus.

17. I can't top that.
I've seen Canadian plates here, but it's only about a 15 hour drive from the border. I've seen Hawaiian and Alaskan plates.

Nothing like Hong Kong, though.

18. But you're in NY NY
where the UN is. So, you lose points for that. I, however, am in Calgary. No embassies or government stuff like that here. Just lots and lots of oil/gas.

26. I should have been more precise
when I said out here, I meant western Canada, specifically, Alberta. There seems to be an "anti-French" attitude here. Or at least, the right wing nutters here have amped up the anti-Quebec feelings. I and my friends have nothing against Quebec. But, unfortunately, the rightwingers here seem to be more vocal than the ones who believe "my Canada includes Quebec". You have to be here to really understand the anti-Quebec feelings. I find them appalling. Please forgive my long, and way too convoluted posts. I blame it on the Kokanee super cans. Yes, I'm a leftist and I don't believe in personal responsibility <heeee>.

22. This reminds me.
Rosie and Miss Rayon
They're busy waitin' for her booster
Who just got back from Carolina
She said she didn't like the weather
They're busy waitin' for her sailor
Who says he's just as big as ever
He says he's from Alabama
He wants to know a way to earn a dollar
I'm searchin' for my mainer
I said I couldn't hit it sideways
I couldn't hit it sideways
Oh, just like Sister Ray said

It's a great place to play the license plate game, especially if you want to see plates from the midwest, east or Canada

29. Right! Who's with me?
A daily or whatever game of LPB. We can start a thread here in the lounge. Post the "foreign" licence plates you saw that day. It's the summer and people are travelling. It will be fun... trust me. We will have to work out rules. For instance, those living in large centres (NYC for example) get half points. Those in more rural/small areas get 2x points. Plates from outside of NA are 3X points (except for large centres... yes I'm looking at Mr. NY NY). It could be confusing but it also could be a lot of fun. We could add certain bonus points. e.g. you actually talk to the person driving the car and get a story.

Let me know if you want to do this.

31. The problem is that our tourist season is over
It runs from October through April. These days, most license plates are local.
