Fans of the show "Angel" -- A question
Regarding Harmony:

She is a vampire, without a soul, and thus should be purely evil. She was portrayed as such the B:tVS.

So why is she acting "good" now? Was this ever explained?

1. Harmony is a ditz...

She was never really portrayed as 'evil'. More like a valley girl version of evil.

She's not 'acting' good now. She's still a creature of the night. Most of the people at Wolfram & Hart are evil but can still be worked with.

Her reason for working at Wolfram & Hart? Great dental plan!

2. Not good,

just a ditzy vampire. She pretends to be strong (from BtVS: "You all are supposed to be my minions." *Stamping feet*) but is actually quite clueless. She will be a syncophant for any stronger person around.

She and Spike had a fling on BtVS. Memo to Spike: What the hell were you thinking?

5. Spike...
She was an easy lay. She looked good. And was willing to dress up as The Slayer for him (even though she didn't know why).

3. I don't think Harm's being protrayed as "good..."
I think she's just "dumb." You know, unicorns and rainbows and puppy dogs don't lose their cuteness just because you like killing people.

4. Oh, yeah, another question
Angel got some on the last episode... why didn't he lose his soul? Is just plain old down and dirty shagging with somebody you don't really like not sufficient to trigger the curse? Or was it because he was under a mystical influence?

6. Neither...
To lose his soul it has to be a moment of 'pure happiness'. What he had with Buffy was love. What he had here was just sex.

9. Pure happiness
Thanks, I forgot about that. Yes, that's why Buffy and Angel could never be together ultimately.

For Angel pure happines = Angelus (Naughty!)

12. Sex (w/o love) doesn't = pure happiness
He had sex with Darla too, but since he wasn't in "true love" with her there was no pure happiness. Same with Eve.

He has only lost his soul 3 times due to pure happiness:

1. Sex with Buffy

2. After taking a hit of the ecstacy drug (it was only temporary)

3. Sex with Cordelia (in that trance, but he still thought it was real and lost it)

8. Indiscriminate shagging
is the equivalent of baking cookies at Wolfram & Hart. ;-)

Both Angel and Spike have their souls back. They would have to do something pretty cosmically nastic to have that taken away.

According to the storyline W&H senior partners believe Angel has a part to play on the final showdown, so it's in their best interest to at least keep him on play on the "good" side. There's occasional talk of keeping the balance between good and evil.

10. Angel
I thought the partners knew he had a role to play but didn't know which side he would be on and, therefore, wanted to push him to be on the winning team (their side)?

11. There was a really good episode where Angel was human
for like a couple days because his blood mixed with some demon... It was an episode where Buffy came to LA to visit after the Thanksgiving episode where she battled the Indians that wanted revenge and he was there to protect her and she couldn't know...ANYWAY...She was in this park near the beach when she looks over and she sees him walking toward her in the daylight. They spend the next day and a half making love and Angel's eating everything in sight. I was crying most of the episode because they had finally gotten what they had wanted all along...Then he had to turn back time and kill the demon for some reason I don't remember, and he was the only one who could remember the day. It was sooo sad...Anyway...you should watch the reruns on TNT every day at 5/4 central or tuesday nights at 11/10 central. Anyway...Sorry for the ramble..
