My first piece of Freeper fan mail! What should I do?

On my Web page, visitors can send me e-mail using a post card format. I guess I've truly made it because I got my first Republican love letter.

He/she watched the "Power to the People" video and this is the response:
"Too bad it was all to support a dictator who killed hundreds of thousands. So many fools, so little sense. Impotence and irrelevance suck, don't you think."

So, what should I do? Ignore it? Respond? What would you suggest for a response?

7. Breakfast in Bagdad

I ordered a simple breakfast (eggs and toast). I was so happy I got them quick and they looked perfect. I got coffee also and the second it was delivered the ground shook. I saw people running and wasnt sure what to do myself. I decided that to run was no better then to sit and enjoy my food..It was good.

I got my shiek hat on after breakfast and decided to join one side or the other.

Then I took my kid out to trick or treat. Well I dont have a kid but.:P

The impotence of the war machine to bring about peace;
and the irrelevance of using bombs to provide security do suck indeed.

The impotence of a closed mind and the irrelevance of the strain of
thought which proceeds from it suck more than you can imagine.

The impotence of killing people to solve problems doesn't suck that much.
It's the irrelevance to the war machine that this method is impotent that sucks.

unless it contains threats or vulgarity or other bad stuff, then I'd report it their ISP in the hope they'll get dropped.

Replying to their email may just encourage them or give them a sense that they're having an effect on you.

Surely Freepers do not spell correctly or use proper grammar. The harshest invective he/she used was "fools".

I would try to find some common ground. He/she could be a future swing voter. The RNC spin point that we are/were supporting Saddam can be answered with facts and reason can't it. As a marcher I will attest that I have no affection for Saddam. What I oppose is death and destruction. A too quick resort to violence and killing to solve our problems/differences. If you resort to violent language as a response to your differences with your fan mailer are you not declaring war on him/her over a somewhat minor provocation?

Also, I would point out that in a democracy the will of the people is not supposed to be irrelevant. Will he/she like it if a Democrat is elected in 2004 and Republicans are made irrelevant?

I got a wingnut e-mail that I did respond to, after I had posted something here on DU that got his panties twisted--he clicked on my sig line and so went through my web site

If you respond to this, you will very likely initiate an endless round of back & forths--even the tersest answer from me ("What's the matter with you anyway?")--resulted in another round of hateful abuse--after the 3rd one I was tired of it and didn't respond any more.
