What happened to that chain? What was it like

1. It was a lot like Target. I think they went chapter 11.

2. It closed about five years ago.

It was kind of like a northeastern version of Ames.

3. They went out of business a few years after I left...I worked there

part time in the mid-90's. They were based in CT, were located in the Northeast mostly, I think. They were esp. good in softlines.
They were also a UNION shop....which is why Walmart pretty much decimated them.....so it seemed to me at the time. That's what happened in the Princeton, NJ area at least.

4. I thought you were asking about the Welsh Mountain

Cader Idris. It is said that if you spend a night sleeping on Cader Idris you will either go insane or wake a poet. I plan to go there some day and was hoping this was about your experience there. But alas I have never been to a Caldor either.

5. I think it was shrunken by Brainiac and put in a bottle...

and now it rests in Superman's Fortress of Solitude until he can restore it to normal size.

Or am I thinking of something else?
