One hour from the best day of college football
Edited on Sat Nov-01-03 11:01 AM by AWD
..in a long time. this should be a GREAT day for the sport.

Oklahoma/Oklahoma State
Miami/Virginia Tech
USC/WSU
Georgia/Florida
FSU/Notre Dame (as if ND has any gas in their tank these days)
Ohio State/Penn State (PSU on a down year, though)
Michigan State/Michigan

Should be FUN!

Incidentally, I figured it out....if four of those 7 games go the way I want, and OSU beats MSU, Purdue, and Michigan....OSU can get into the Sugar Bowl. But I'm not predicting ANYTHING at this point.

1. Separation Saturday!
Oklahoma
Miami (but I'm rooting for VA Tech)
USC (but this is a toss up)
Georgia (the largest cocktail party in the country!)
FSU
Ohio State
Michigan (again, another toss up)

I have the beer chillin'!

5. Well, that would be bad for me
You only named one of the 4 winners that I need to see.

By the way...needed to point this out. Ohio State has Penn State, Purdue, MSU and Michigan left on their schedule. How LONG has it been since a team could say that PENN STATE IN HAPPY VALLEY is the easiest game left on a schedule?

7. Agree!
But don't you think it's about time Joe Paterno (sp?) retired?

18. I think USC frog stomps WSU today.
The OSU Beavers should have (woulda shoulda coulda!) beaten the cougs last week.

Other than a glaring let down in covering the slot receiver when WSU went to 4 wideouts and an empty backfield the OSU beavers were doing a good job getting pressure on Kegel with a 4 man rush w/ only occasional blitzes from the linebackers. Kegel got picked what, 5 times? (should have been seven!).

WSU had one good running play off a draw for a touchdown. They ended up with less than 10 yrds total rushing net for the game. (I think)

I don't think USC's D is inferior to Oregon State's. (which I think is good too)

USC can dink and dunk the ball. They spread the ball around very well. OSU can't. Or hasn't. That led to many sacks with corner and safety blitzes. WSU lined up and decalared their intention to blitz and the Beavers couldn't make them pay.

I think USC can and will make them pay dearly.

Kegel is beat up. He was beat up last week, and things won't get any better in the Mausoleum.

oh yeah, btw. Beavs make VermontDems day and crush the Mildcats. SJ over 200 yrds. :-)

(I hope!!!)

4. That because
Ohio State won the national title last year on a controversial call? What's your problem with VA Tech? Is it because WV blew them out of the water?

6. They didn't win it because of that call
That call (and it was controversial no matter which side you're on) did not win the game. It continued a drive.

Miami had the ball 1st and goal at the 1 yard line and failed to get in on 4 plays against the OSU defense. THAT won the game for Ohio State.

9. Wasn't there a play
where there was pass interference in the end zone but the official took forever to throw the flag? I don't remember who it was on - too long ago (and too much beer).

11. Yeah, that's the play
Defensive back grabbed the WR just as the ball was released, (let go right away), then a collision just as the ball went past the WR.

Ref in the back corner of the end zome took about 3 seconds to throw it. He later claimed he replayed the pay in his head before making the decision.

They called interference, but it should have been holding. Same difference though.

13. it ain't gonna be very good for me today....
.....My Tigers are playin' My Bulldogs today...s'a conflict o'interest man....LSU vs. Louisiana Tech...it's LSU's homecoming and they just had to schedule it against Tech *sigh* And Tech is just scrappy enough to give LSU a loss too 'cos they use the no huddle offense..and will throw a lot...if they don't have many turnovers then it could get interesting...but they're notorious for doin' that a tad too much sooooo....just hate to pull for one over the other but in the end it's gotta be LSU since they're ranked....AARRGGGHHH!!!

:hi: Jeff...wishin' your Buckeyes gooood luck today babe! :*
