What movies should _NOT_ have/had a sequel?
I just saw a commercial for John Travolta in "Phenomenon II".

Some movies should NEVER have a sequel!

StarTrek II: the Wrath of Khan

5. have to agree with that first one
I just wasted $15 on Matrix reloaded.

But I think that is a little different. I loved the first movie, but think the 2nd one bit. The question is based on a first movie which is so bad that the sequel could be called: "the nightmare continues".

Recent movies that I hated would be

Spider man
Scooby Doo (yes I have to watch movies with my nieces, but it was also memory lane for me)

Because they were not true to the originals.

31. Reloaded = not as good as the first one
It was good (better after repeat viewings) and it had some elements I liked (the Neo/Smith(s) fight, car chase, etc.). And I liked the idea of the rogue elements inside the Matrix (Agent Smith, the French guy, the albino twins).

The rave scene should have been deleted - it really sucked. It almost killed the movie.

"The Animatrix" DVD looks pretty cool (I got a bonus disc from Best Buy with the "Renaissance II" segment), and while not a big anime fan, I was entertained.

But I'm a sucker, so I'll pony up the coin and see "Revolutions" next week.

8. No way! Reloaded Sucked big time
I almost started laughing during the multi Neo Multi Mr.Smith fight.
It seemed to be more of a typical action flix.

9. Any of the Star Wars stuff lately was pathetic...
The first three films released were fine (the original and Return of the Jedi being the best IMHO)

But this latest crap - it's just crap!
If ya don't got the guy with the wookiee, ya don't got much!

18. Austin Powers....
The original was a sweet, funny, spot-on love note to the genre. When I walked out of it, I turned to my friend who was with me and said, "I pray they don't spoil things and make a sequel".

But noone ever listens to me.

Hannibal was a horrid book written into an equally horrid screenplay. I don't know anyone who liked either. Really bad book, really bad movie.

Just my opinion.

"Rocky II-XXVII"

"Speed II" (why not leave well enough alone)

"Legally Blonde II" (First one was bad enough)

"Jaws II and III"

"Caddyshack II" (eeeeeeeeeaaaaauuuuuuugggghhhhhh!!!!)

"Analyze That"

"City Slickers II" (not to pick on Billy Crystal)

"Dumb and Dumberer II"

"Miss Congeniality II" (heard they were making a sequel - the first one was f-ing awful enough!)

The Psycho sequels (especially the made for cable one where Norman Bates calls in to radio talk shows - yes, it's true!)

"Blair Witch II" (HATED HATED HATED the first one!)

Anything where the dead guy is brought back to life

"Titanic II - Back To The Boat"

"Steel Magnolias II - The Boyfriend Torturer"

(Just kidding about the last two. They don't exist. Yet.)
