Poll question: If You Were On A Game Show...
And You Could Choose Between what's behind...

Door No. 1

Door No. 2

or

Dorr No. 3

What would you choose?

And is there anything, mentally, behind why someone would choose a certain door?

1. you know what
During my highschool years some math nerds managed to prove to the entire class that if you picked door 1 then changed your mind to door nr 2 the odds were actually better.

If i was interested in math i would have found it fascinating.. ofcourse we all just shrugged it off.

"The correct answer is that you do want to switch. If you do not switch, you have the expected
1/3 chance of winning the car, since no matter whether you initially picked the correct
door, Monty will show you a door with a goat. But after Monty has eliminated one of
the doors for you, you obviously do not improve your chances of winning to better than 1/3
by sticking with your original choice. If you now switch doors, however, there is a 2/3
chance you will win the car (counterintuitive though it seems)."

3. Price is Right

Similar thing happens on TPiR.

Everybody knows the most valuable showcase at the end is the 2nd Showcase. Therefore your goal is to get the closest to a 1.00 in your part of the show. When the showcase comes around, be the first in the Showcase Showdown. The important point is, then you have the option of passing on the 1st Showcase.

edit: No I do not minor in The Price is Right. It's been about 7 years since I've seen it regularly. ;-)
