8. My husband swears by Shiatsu
when his back goes out, which it does about once or twice a year.

I guess with any kind of massage, a lot depends on the individual practitioner.

9. Hot packs: 15 minutes on, 45 minutes off
Hot tap water on a hand towel wrung out and placed on your lower back while you lie on your stomach. Repeat the 15/45 cycle till the pain is gone.
Too bad you don't have arnica montana 30X. In 10 minutes, that cured a back spasm for me that was so painful it made me nauseous.

10. I have done the hot packs and found it worked for me
though my pain was in the shoulder area. Try this and good luck! Have you consulted a reputable chiropractor? They can work wonders if you are in pain.
