Anyway, we're sorta halfway between Chapel Hill and Hillsborough. If you know where the Maple View Farms ice cream store is (all the way out Homestead, past the Calvander instersection, where it turns into Dairyland), you know roughly where we are. No big plans for tomorrow - we WILL have a bonfire, because I have a pile of stuff in the yard that needs burning, but probably no drunken barn dance type shindig. You're more than welcome to cruise out if you'd like. The more people drinkin' around the fire, the merrier. ;-)

i am originally from Ral, but have been in CH for most of the last 20 yrs or so. How long you 2 been in these parts?

did either of you get to town to hear Jim Hightower on campus friday? There was a pretty good showing, he took questions for ~ an hour after talking about grassroots organizing.

What is it with UNC and the ZERO PUBLICITY thing they do whenever anyone worthwhile is coming to campus? Neither of us made it. Dammit.

I'll PM you some directions shortly. Nobody has responded to my thread about a get-together, so could just be the 3 of us (and the kids), but it'd be our pleasure to meet ya'.

Oh - and to answer yer other question... I've been in Orange county since May. Born and raised in Durham, so not really new to the area. Dolo amber and kids got here from KY just over a month ago. They're learing to fit in. ;-)

20. Seems there was a benefit

for Inst. for Southern Studies/Southern Exposure magazine and Democracy NC this weekend that i read about in the indy. They also mentioned that he'd be speaking on campus for free friday at noon, so i went by. Maybe 50-60 people in attendance.

21. Hightower was at Hayti Heritage Center

in Durham tonight for a benefit. $20 to get in the door. But I had a prior dinner commitment and couldn't go. I didn't know about the FREE lecture on campus. That would have been cool.
