I am going to take a break from DU.
I think I'm gonna go for a while. Just too much crap going on at this place and it really has gotten me down. I've seen the split of liberal ideals and it truly eats me up inside. Too many good people have turned against each other because of the unrelenting bashing going on in the political forums.

I can't take it. So it's either I leave for a while, or I say something that will get me banned. I will return after we've selected the man/woman as the Democratic nomination. I do hold out hope that no matter who it is, that we will get behind him/her and support their run in 2004. Sadly I doubt it'll happen. But maybe by then people will have grown up.

So I really think I need a break. It's just too much and I can't deal with it. I shall see you all next year.

Take care!

4. This too shall pass.....
A little break is good sometimes and I will likely join you in breaking from DU for a week or two, since I'm WAY behind in work/school. But, I know the tentacles of DU are deeply embedded in us both, so there's no way the break will be permanent nor long.

Take care, Sean.. Regroup, refresh and come back ready to swing at the REPUG camp....

I hope things are peaceful on the home front, too, Sean. Best wishes.

6. While you're away, Sean. . .
take time to educate yourself on the history of Progressive Movements and their near constant internal bickerings. You'll find there's more truth than humor to Will Roger's famous quip, "I don't belong to any organized political party. I'm a Democrat."

8. I think it was Al Franken who said...
That trying to get democrats to work together without bickering is like using a team of cats to run the iditarod.

Give it a week and see how you feel. This place needs those still in touch with kindness.

It is necessary every once in a while. The candidate flame wars here were ridiculous. The mods are squelching them now and The Late Breaking News is always worth a peek atleast two times a day. Don't go too far, DU is not a bad place to be for the most part.

15. you gotta go where you gotta go
"Therefore you must always keep in mind that a path is only a path;
if you feel you should not follow it, you must not stay with it under any conditions....
Does this path have a heart? If it does, the path is good; if it doesn't, it is of no use.
Both paths lead nowhere; but one has a heart, the other doesn't.
One makes for a joyful journey; as long as you follow it, you are one with it.
The other will make you curse your life. One makes you strong; the other weakens you."

take care

19. Go where you can be and do your best.
Good luck. Try not to take the rediculousness too seriously no matter where you spend your time.

I don't know if you recognize this: be in the world, not of it.

21. I took my brake, my power was out for three days.
I missed you guys.Just forget who is running for now.It will all get done.I recall when Times put Bush on cover and said he may run for Prez. I almost went out of my mind laughing. How could someone that knew nothing, had done nothing, and lived off his father's name run for Prez? Well little did I knew that he got all the money before anyone else even said they may run. So it is all just crazy.

I totally understand the feeling. I just about completely avoid candidate threads these days.

Will be looking for your return in early 2004!
