Big Star, Raspberries, Badfinger, The Knack, Velvet Crush, Matthew Sweet, Flamin Groovies, and many, many other bands are now taking up the prime positions in my travel CD case. Anyone else who's into power pop out there? Any recommendations for artists I might not have heard of yet?

Big Star and Matthew Sweet are two of my all-time faves. Saw Matt on the "Girlfriend", "Altered Beast", and "100% Fun" tours. All great shows. He rocks so hard live it'll tear your head off. Even tunes like "Winona" were done with all distorted electric guitars. It's sweet.
And Alex Chilton is God.
You have good taste.
The only band not on there that comes to mind immediately is The Posies... quintessential PP. If I think of more, I'll repost...
