I've been assured that this is, in fact, aiding and abetting, even directly committing, murder.

And no, I'm not sorry.

7. I bought a bottle of wine last Sunday!
At a store run by non-Christians, yet. Pakistanis, I believe. The Buddhists & Hindus usually have shrines in their stores. (Of course, the Pakistanis are probably in a gray area by SELLING wine, but don't act like it.)

I've got mixed feelings about the God business. But I've got a statue of Shiva & a poster of a Red Tara (who looks a lot like Kali). Of course, the 10 Commandment Fundamentalists would probably object to my Lady of Guadalupe refrigerator magnet.

Etc., etc.

13. I coveted my neighbor's wife once
Thin, young, pretty, lived in the apartment above where we lived at the time. Some other guy was coveting her, too -- her husband was an airline pilot for a commuter airline, and when he was away some other guy was there ALL the time.

During summer she never wore anything other than her bikini, and she was outside all the time. My wife hated her guts...

17. Inventory as follows:
1. I worship at the Church of the Big Giant Cat.
2. Do half-naked photos of Trent Reznor count?
3. Oh ha ha.
4. Only during football season.
5. Done and done. Best parents in the universe.
6. Been tempted, but don't want to deal with the paperwork.
7. Nope, and not planning on it either.
8. An eraser in 5th grade, that's about it.
9. As much as I wanted to, couldn't bring myself to do it.
10. Hey, coveting is what drives the economy! (such as it is)

Soooo, 6 out of 10 commandments either bent or outright broken.

*scopes out the sky for lightning*

Just as I thought. My god is far more lenient than the one the neofundies profess to worship. :P

6. Nope.
7. Yep, technically. The BF and I started dating when we both were still married (on paper). He's still married (on paper).
8. I went on a big shoplifting spree at Six Flags once (when I was 16 or so).
9. Not as an adult, that I know of. As a child, sure.
10. Yep.

19. I've definitely coveted my neighbor's ass!
By committing adultery with it. Then I beared false witness about it to my father and mother, whom I dishonored by taking thy lord's name in vain, who's not my Lord anyway. My Lord's a graven image which I stole from said neighbor, but I had to kill him first to get it.

and I did it all on the Sabbath day. While listening to Black Sabbath.

20. Where to begin ...
Well, I'm pretty safe on #1 since I have no Gods at all. Do Christians violate this when they pray to Christ or Mary Madonna?

#2, I don't even know what that means. Some say any image is graven and if that is true, I have violated the shit out of it with drawings and photos. Is a stone tablet of the 10 Commandments a graven image?

#3, What the goddamn hell does that even mean. Now, NIV says You shall not abuse the name of the LORD (which means Jehovah, not Jesus). I never claim to act on divine authority or to represent that I know what God wants. As far as using religious terms as interjections, I do that constantly.

#4, Does going to a stip joint on a Sunday count as violating the sabbath?

#5, What does "honor" mean? I have not done everything they have ever said and frankly, my mother can drive me crazy sometime. I guess I cannot answer this.

#6, NIV says you shall not commit murder. That has a completely different meaning than Thou Shalt Not Kill. Murder is obviously a very narrow term while kill can mean anything. I've never killed anyone unless buying retail from companies that use overseas abused labor counts.

#7, Never done that except that Jesus said that even thinking about other women counts as adultery.

#8, no comment

#9, I know I have never lied about anyone under oath and can only hope I have never done so elsewhere.

#10, What the hell does that mean? Gee, be nice to live there! Is that coveting? Is noticing that the rich have everything coveting? If so, I guess I blew that one.

33. By my estimation... 4.
I. - No, I haven't really broken it, because I have no gods at all
II. - No, I've never made any idols or crosses or 10 commandment monuments
III. - Yes, all the time, except wait... it's not my god, so, no.
IV. - Yes, break it every Sunday (or Saturday)
V. - Yes, I have broken that one, when I was not honored in return.
VI. - No, never killed anyone, fortunately I've never been in the military
VII. - No, since I can't be married, technically, no.
VIII. - Yes, stole a candy bar when I was 5 or 6
IX. - No, never lied about my neighbors, or stood against them at trial (by the way... does this mean that if you know your neighbor is a pedophile, it would be a sin to report him?)
X. - Yes, I definitely have coveted things.

34. hmmmmm
1) I believe in one God -- I don't access Him/Her/It through any particular prophet such as Christ or Buddha or Mohammed. So, amazingly, that's one I do pretty well with.

2) Graven image ... well, I have a candle holder bearing the image of the patron saint of the Church of the Holy Drag Queen. Does that count as a graven image?

3) Jesus H. Christ! Every day I break this one. Every time I see another "George W. Bush is good for America"-type bumper sticker, I break this baby!

4) Does ANYONE obey this one (I mean, once church is over on Sunday morning)! Any Fundie who thinks they truly keep the Sabbath holy ... when I see the mall parking lot PACKED with W-bumper-stickered cars every Sunday ... is nuts.

5) I had parents who were easy to honor (except when I was a teenager -- I couldn't help myself!). I try to honor them by being a good person and doing things for others, like they were and did. And, hey, Fundies! They were both Democrats!

6) Do spiders and roadkill count?

7) I can't imagine myself hooking up with a married man. Not interested. One person I know who did commit adultury (for years) is one of the biggest, loudest, freaking Fundies you could ever meet. Typical.

8) I did steal my sister's tooth (for the tooth fairy) out from underenath my sister's pillow, so I'd get the 50 cents -- when I was about 4. Other than that: Though now completely lapsed, I grew up so Catholic that I'm psychologically incapable of stealing (for fear of hell).

9) Me, a stool pigeon? Nevah, Copper! Seriously, I couldn't imagine breaking this one. Does gossiping about your co-workers count? Well, in that case ...

10) Gimme a break. What a commandment. What rich Fundie hasn't coveted something -- maybe even every damned thing -- their neighbor has? Who of us hasn't seen SOMETHING at our neighbor's house that we want? Who hasn't looked in a Martha Stewart magazine and said, "I WANT THAT KITCHEN!!!" I'm not gonna beat myself up too much over that one. I'm not very materialistic, so I figure I'm doin' ok.
