Is it the trite abortion issue, where it's nobody's damn business except the woman and her doctor's?

Is it about the death penalty?

Or the "war" in Iraq?

Or how our actions endanger the environemnt which in turn threatens all our lives?

I'd loooooooooove to know how consistent these repukes are.

I'm not sure I quite agree with you there. First-trimester abortions don't bother me, but I'm not quite comfortable with second- or third- trimester abortions, unless these are necessary to save the life of the mother.

Paradoxically, the religious right encourages late-term abortion, by opposing first-trimester abortion and even day-after pill and even (God knows why) contraception and sex ed.

On a moral level I agree with you. Personally, I don't like the idea of abortion. But, also morally, it should only be discussed between the woman and her doctor. The government has no right whatsoever to tell doctors what they can't do. The government is not filled with medical experts, humanitarians, philanthropists, or anybody of usefulness or character. Just a bunch of people who either put corporate interests above "We, The People", make other peoples' lives miserable, or who want to restrict and put conditions on freedom.

After all, for any other issue, the government is told BY THE PEOPLE to stay out of their lives. Why the duplicity in this regard? It's baffling.

And I do agree 200% when you say the religious right encourages late-term abortion.
