Let us all be thankfull..................
that on this sunday morning we can get out of bed, make a pot of coffee, read the paper or watch the news on the television. Our men and women are dying in Iraq at an alarming pace. They have no reason to be there other than the demented decisions of conservative hawks in Washington. I feel so bad for the soldiers and their families, that they should bear the burden of such immoral policies. My first cup of coffee of the day goes in toast to the brave men and women who are following our cretin of a pResident's orders today. Stay out of the way of the bullets guys, and come home soon.

1. Exactly.
I saw a sign on a lawn yesterday that read "Support our Troops and George W. Bush". I think that wanting them home and safe is more supporting than sending them into harms way. I pray for them and their families every day.

2. I think about it every day, DG
and I've been mailing packages to two guys there so I've made it a bit personal. :(

3. Definitely.
Supporting Our Troops and Supporting Our 'President' are different - in fact, they're opposites.

"We can support our troops without supporting our president." - Trent Lott, in the midst of the Kosovo action, 1999

4. Yes, but "everything changed on 9-11" and "it's a different world now"
and "we have to be willing to accept certain changes in our social structure" and other bullshit phrases. So now, apparently, it's no longer possible to support our troops while not supporting the president. I'm sure that, if a democrat wins in 2004, it will then become possible again to support troops while not supporting a president, but for now, we're stuck with it as impossible.

just like it's okay to have an independant prosecutor (or whatever the hell Starr was called) with a democrat president, but not with a republican one.
