1. My husband
but it was many years ago, in England. It is my hope for you that things have improved since then, because his descriptions make my spine shiver.

Bottom line: demand all the drugs you can get!

Wishing you well,

8. Any type of surgery on the nose
sucks. It takes forever to heal. I had surgury to correct a septum problem. It was out-patient surgery and that night in bed my girlfriend rolled over and elbowed me in the nose.

3. A guy at work had it done this year.
He is not an especially whiny guy, and he said it hurt like hell. He also recommends lots of heavy drugs for the recovery period. And he still gets those sinus headaches, but not as bad.

Good luck!

4. when I was very very young
About 3. Also had tubes put in my ears and my adenoids removed. All I remember is being zonked out a lot and still getting earaches. Hope yours is successful, and you'll be okay! :hi:

5. talk to your doc
about an electric-powered nasal irrigator for the recovery.

6. Definitely
I have a friend who's had this surgery twice, and the doctor said he may need it again! He has said over and over again, though, that the nasal irrigator saved him. Good luck.

10. I've got the Grossan
"Hydro Pulse". Some of the best money I ever spent -- although if you have insurance, most will cover it for you if your doc will prescribe it:

Here's one place to get one.

11. RUN BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE
Behold the evils of nasal irrigation:

Doesn't it send CHILLS up your SPINE?!

That said, I know absolutely nothing about endoscopic sinus surgery, but this thread reminded me of when I saw a picture of a nasal irrigator in action and was THOROUGHLY CREEPED OUT by it! :o

Avoid them like the plague! Unless you need one, that is.

12. I don't know what that guy's doing....
My nasal irrigator is like a water-pik with a soft rubber nostril-shaped tip, pulses water gently in one nostril and it falls out the other.

I've actually started using it again nightly, works great for allergies as well as stimulating the cilia in the sinuses to let them clear themselves better.

13. I had something similar.
(Don't ask). But if they give you something to numb you, you won't feel it that much, even afterwards.
