Land line vs. cell phone (only)
Does anyone have only a cell phone and no landline in the house? I'm seriously considering doing this, mainly for $$$. I have cable modem so I don't need the phone line for the internet. The only thing I can forsee needing a land line for is to send a fax, which I rarely do.

Input???

2. We use the land line for the internet only
it's worked out fine using just cell phones for calls. Though I have gotten 2 sales calls on my cell recently, which really pissed me off.

3. No cell phone
The land line has Caller ID, and I'm on the Do Not Call list. Plus my cordless has Caller ID integrated into the display. If I don't recognise who you are, you can talk to Mr. Spock : http://www.sillyhumor.com/answer/spock.wav

4. No, but a dating interest of mine only has a cell
and it's a friggin DRAG!

You can't rely on a good connection.

AND, watching the clock for the free minutes periods is a drag.

AND, when the battery forgets to get charged......no phone.

AND, for emergency reasons - it's just good to have a phone that doesn't have a possibility of falling between the couch cushions.

AND, if you lost the phone for a day - you'd be out of communication.

My 2 cents. The bad connection times and the echoing makes CHATTING impossible.

AND, if you need to have a LONG conversation with someone, you will be holding a very HOT phone to your ear (you know how cell phones get real hot after a while).

5. Cell Phone Only - 2 years
and I live in rural Wyoming! So far I see no reason to get a land line again (I have wireless Internet from an antenna 18 miles away).

6. I have a landline, but 2 friends with cell phones only.
Their major complaints are:

1) You don't get telemarketing calls, but you are also never going to be phoned and asked to participate in a poll or a constructive survey.

2) Todd is always running out of money and minutes on his phone and ends up literally unable to place or receive calls until the next cycle of minutes is available. Kind of a pain in the ass if you're just trying to phone him up and get him to come out and see a movie.
