Hey Du'ers I've been reborn. |
|
Edited on Sun Nov-02-03 06:45 PM by Cleita
The old Clete with her androgynous name and 4,000 + posts has been laid to rest, but she is resurrected and reincarnated as Cleita, a definitely female name. Unfortunately, she has to live her DU life all over again, the one hundred posts, the 700 club and the first 1,000 posts. Sigh. So everybody who has Clete on ignore, you need to update your preferences.

Although I often passed as a man on paper in my working past, just so I would get some respect from the men I was exchanging business correspondence with, I'm not doing that anymore. New millenium requires a new feminazi attitude here. Also, it is pronounced the same. Clete is the Greek spelling and Cleita is the Latin. :-)

|
In my book, when we kill all the men, except a few breeders, and rule the world, then that is probably a step too far.

17. heh well ill say a example |
|
My friend was studying litteraturein College and in this course this female teacher picked out 5 books they were to read.
Now this course was NOTHING at all to do with feminism or anything like that.
Anyway The books she picked out was
"I know why the caged bird sings" (about a young black girl in 30s america, getting exposed to racism, raped when shes 7, a dad good for nothing, and getting pregnant when shes 17 or something
"Things fall apart" about a tribal man in 1930s africa who considered his many wifes as objects and tok every opportunity to hit them.. manhandle them etc.
"union street" basicly 5 stories about british women getting raped, manhandled by their husbands.. getting kids when theyre 16 , doing illegal abortions etc
"the woman who walked into doors" one big story about a british woman getting raped, manhandled by her husband, gettingkids when shes 18 etc.
and then a salman rushdie book...
Anyway i think this is really wrong.. and the guys in this class got pretty upset from what i heard.

18. Maybe that was the idea. |
|
Do you think men should be sheltered from knowing the unvarnished truth about what happens to women even today in our society. I know I got very squeamish at first when teachers introduced us to the terrible things done to African Americans through literature, since they were dragged over here as slaves. Opening up young eyes to injustices isn't really going to far is it?

My main qualification is that I ALWAYS make sure the toilet seat is down after I use it. (My gf trained me well.) I have other qualifications to be one of the breeders...but I would be bragging and this is supposed to be a family-friendly website.

Damn, I thought my ideas of a "perfect" society were my own. Now I find out we share them. Also, you are right, we do have our work cut out for us again. It seems we did not pass along our stories well enough and these days I am never sure that we aren't being driven back into the 50's. I am not sure, however, that these years will be quite as attractive without a bra.

Clete is the classical Greek spelling of Cleita, which is how it's pronounced. There is also Clete, like in Clete Roberts and Clet is a variation of that, which is pronounced "kleet". This name is for the most part male. So many DU'ers were calling me dude that I figured a correction was in order.
