1. I am so amazed how they have duplicated the thirties. |
|
I mean the mechanic's suit in tonight's program was so accurate as well as the sad lost people. I love the caravans that the carnie's live in. They look like real museum pieces. I guess there is a website, which I haven't been to, that gives all the background information.

2. I caught the first 3 episodes |

Thought it was pretty cool. Then I had to move and I still haven't got my cable hooked up yet. :-(

tonights mental institution scenes were pretty cool. Reminded me a lot of Exorcist 3.
Best TV show other than the long-cancelled Strangers w/Candy.

|
:wow: :wow: :wow: :wow: :wow:
It is a nice warped and twisted show about the depression era.

8. This rocks (spoiler, past episode talk) |
|
This show has continued some serious jaw droppers.
The scene in the window, when Samson was leaving Babylon, is one of the most haunting and terrifying things I've ever scene. It just got worse and worse as the implications sank in, and Samson really finished it off with the look he gave. Truly remarkable writing and acting.
And who the hell is Management, anyway?

10. Satan, according to speculation at the hbo carnivale forum... |
|
I don't think it will be that simple though.
Some even suggested that management is the fetus that was in the jar in the baggage cart that Ben went to clean out. That's where he found the photo of his mom with the Big Sky Farms truck.

A little gory, at times, but still a damn fine show. And who knew, when this and K-Street premiered a few months ago all anyone talked about was K-Street. Now, I never watch that show, but am hooked on Carnivale.
And that blonde girl is absolutely drop-dead gorgeous. Sometimes I wish I just lived in a different era so I could fully appreciate what women used to look like before they started caring about every extra pound they carry around.

Somebody who appreciates curvy women! One of the things I like about Carnivale is way women are protrayed, freckles, cellulite, irregularly sized boobs and all. Makes the show much more accurate and earthy.
On another note, do you think Justin has figured out that he's NOT God's servant yet?

Being the preacher guy, right?
I don't know what he is now. And I'm not sure what he meant by being "God's Left Hand."
I'm sure that's a biblical term, but I don't know it.

14. My biblical knowledge, |
|
what little I had, is mostly forgotten. But I think Lucifer was God's left hand before he fell.
I've thought all along that he was actually the purveyor of evil. Every supernatural thing he has done has been to further his cause, and also hurt someone in some way in that effort. Whereas, with Hawkins, his efforts have been to help someone.

15. and dont you think that the devil |
|
would use the church to further his aims
while god would use the outcasts of the world....
It was really sad seeing the ball player when he went with the women...how shy he was and ashamed of his knee...really made you feel for all these people who we would consider to by the cast off...but what human isnt like that...inside and out?
or is that too deep?

Not too deep at all. Interesting parallels between Hawkins' journeys thru the dust bowl and Jesus' temptation by the devil.
Now, if HBO would just get their butts in gear and bring back my Six Feet Under, I'd be in cable heaven!
