Worst Dating Experience Ever |
|
It happened a month or so ago, but just thought I'd share it with you guys. This summer I met this cute woman at the local gay bar (I have come to realize the bar scene is not for me), and we'd talked for a while. She seemed more interested in my disability than me (she happens to teach students with the same condition), but I thought she sure sounded genuinely interested in me.
Anyway, the months roll by, and then one day I get this note at my on-campus job. It turned out that she graduated from the same college I go to, and was interested in getting together with me. I e-mailed her and said I'd definitely be interested. I was totally happy. A few days later, I get an e-mail from her saying to meet her at such-and-such a place, and that she might have her kids with her. I'd heard nothing about kids until this moment. I started to feel something wasn't quite right, but I met her at the coffee shop anyway.
So she shows up with one of her kids and her girlfriend. During the interminable hour or so I was with them, I felt like some kid who was just tagging along. I didn't get the sense that she saw me as an equal, and she kept on "interviewing" me about how my disability affected my education, etc. What a day!

3. From everything you said above ... |
|
nowhere does it say she wanted to have a date. She wanted to get together. Word mincing, sure. But just because she said let's get together, it doesn't imply a date.

and for some reason I said yes. We group dated cuz he was nervous and wanted his friends around on our first date. They picked me up and he was smoking those stinky herb (not pot) cigarettes that were popular in the 70's and we went to eat pizza. One of his friends had stuck a pole through his foot earlier at work and was on painkillers. This guy sat across from me at the pizza place and had two over-sized teeth (just two teeth altogether), one on the top in the middle and one on the bottom bent sideways. I sat and smelled herb smoke and was mesmerized watching him gnaw on the pizza. They were all loud and obnoxious and foul mouth, the girls were the worst. Then we all got back in the car, drove two blocks and the guy on painkillers got sick to his stomach and the last thing I recall is bailing out of that car in the nick of time.
Now that is more of what I thought you were going to describe.

5. I met an attractive woman |
|
at a softball tournament. We hit it off and had some pizza and then decided to go clubbing after I'd had a chance to shower. We went back to my apartment and when I got out of the shower she was in the living room giving my roommate a "Monica". I told him that he owed me $20 for what I had already spent and that she was his.

6. Met a girl through a dating service... |

several years ago. I was in the Navy and had recently moved to a new city.
She had seen a picture of me, and we had talked briefly on the phone and had decided to meet in person over dinner. We agreed on a nice little Italian place close to where I was living.
About 20 minutes into the date she informs me that I was very lucky she agreed to go out with me, because she typically doesn't associate with people in my financial position (I was enlisted military poor, which put me about a dollar a month above hobo poor). She explained that she thought that I was cute, and when we talked on the phone I made her laugh, so she decided to take a chance, and see what happened (i.e. she decided to go slumming).
A few more minutes into the conversation, she tells me that she might just have a way for me to solve my financial problem. She has a friend who is looking for some part time help to clean his office building at night and if I were to take that job, then maybe by combining my military salary with my janitor salary, I could afford to take her out on a real date.
I politely stood up, excused myself and left the restaurant.
After that I decided that I was better off with the bar scene.
