Where does a tall, thin guy buy sweatshop-free pants? |
|
I'm trying to be really conscious about where I buy my clothes. I want pants and jeans made without sweatshop labor, preferably organic fibers and made with unionized labor if possible.
The problem is most of the green sites I've visited don't carry men's pants, or they carry a standard-length inseam (32" or 34"). Buying 30" waist, 36" inseam pants is hard enough - imagine trying to buy them with a conscience!
Anyone know of a great place to buy socially conscious men's pants in uncommon sizes?

1. It can be a bit expensive |
|
Do a Google for bespoke tailors. There are several around the country these days. If you want to take a chance, many of them will fit via email if you have a decent clothier or tailor to measure. The sewing is usually done in house.
I am not talking cheap here. Expect trousers to start at around $100-$150
Nice touch, should you ever need additional alterations or repairs, the better houses will do this at no charge for the life of the garment.
I buy all of my suits and most dress shirts this way.

2. For Jeans I Like Carhartts |
|
They're made in Mexico but the denim is US made. Heavier denim than most other brands on the market, better quality and is made in odd sizes.
