DU Adopted Soldier Update.

I just got a letter from Mike B. He says they are mostly doing patrols and guard duty. And it is getting cooler in Iraq.

I probably won't get another package out before the end of November, so if anyone is getting one ready to send, Mike requested solid albacore tuna in water and "those delicious Dole fruit things". :)
I think that must be the fruit cups.

He also sent a couple of photos, one of him and his Lt. standing by their Bradley tanks, and another one of the group boarding their Blackhawk helicopter. It was good to hear from him.

He's a sweet guy. I say a prayer for our soldiers every night. God I wish we'd get out of this mess.

3. any word on a recent package i sent?

i sent it a few weeks ago, not sure when it will arrive. 46 pounds of wetwipes,books, gum etc..

5. I didn't hear anything from Mike about it specifically.

He reiterated that the packages mean so much to them out there, I'm sure he means that about all the packages we're sending to the unit. I feel pretty sure that you'll hear from your soldier. It may take time tho. Mike's letter was dated Sept. 20, and postmarked Oct 25. I don't know if there was a delay with him sending it, or if it got hung up somewhere after he mailed it. But six weeks to get a letter mailed is a long time.

Every time I see a report on CNN about another soldier gone, I wonder when it will be one that we've been sending packages to.

When I see the fatalities list I find myself scanning for the familiar names...
