Apparently, many are walking down that path. Too bad it'll probably be quite awhile before they find out it is as empty a trail to follow in life as one can find.

God bless the corporations for selling us on a whitewashed, sparkly, new shoes and a cool car (or two) lifestyle. You gotta hand it to them. Relentless advertising aimed at people from the time they can see is very effective.

Even progressives allow shit like that to deter them from thinking. I might get flammed for this, but I really hope some plague (SARS, AIDS, denge fever, whatever...) comes and wipes out about 3/4 of the human population.
