I'm listening to Johnny Cash.
The man comes around.

Beautiful. Genius. Pure art. Note-perfect. You can keep the Beatles if we in the UK can have Johnny Cash.

What's your current listening?

6. The whirlwind is in the thorn tree
The virgins are all trimming their wicks.
The whirlwind is in the thorn trees.
It's hard for thee to kick against the pricks.

21. That song is so apocalytpic it scares the shit outta me!
There's a man goin' round takin' names
Everybody won't be treated just the same.

WHEN THE MAN COMES AROUND!

Chilling.

I was in LA last year and a friend took me to one of her shows. She is amazing.

I just love Johnny Cash! I was listening to him last night. I think I am going to put on some Janis Joplin next:hi:

8. Since I was a wee little kid
I have loved Johnny Cash. There's nothing better than his American recordings CDs done with Rick Rubin. Unless it was the Sun Records with Sam Phillips.

9. Listening to Buddy Guy/Junior Wells
two great Chicago blues players jamming out on Muddy Water's "Still a Fool" live, acoustically.

It is pretty bad ass

10. Hey mate.
The Blues I know little about. Music, like literature, is a bottomless treasurehouse of joys for later - I'll get round to the Blues. I listen to pretty much everything. Brian Eno to Britney.

20. Just saw Buddy Guy at Wolf Trap few weeks back
Amazingly spry for a guy his aged - walked around the whole lawn doing the song "Angel From Montgomery." Also did incredibly sensual version of "Feels Like Rain" that was like sex on the half-note. Soooooo good!

Cash wouldn't have minded about it, though. He had perspective.

23. Tell me about it.
3 of the 4 original Ramones are dead, and the fucking Backstreet Boys just made a "reunion album". How the Hell is that justice??

Can't we give them the Brotherhood of Man or Bucks Fizz instead?

18. I'm sure Cliff would go down well in the bible belt--
--unfortunately I fear exporting him is probably prohibited by international law.
