2. I got set up once...
and went on a double date. We went to the beach in Jersey. My date got real fucked up drunk.

On the way home I'm in the back seat of the car with her. She hadn't spoken in like 20 minutes. Then she elbows me in the ribs and says,"Hold this" and hands me a camera she had been taken pictures at the shore with.

I hear a gurgling sound and look over at her and she is puking down the front of her shirt. I used her camera to take a picture.

Now that I think about it I guess it was her date from hell. I thought it was funny.

there was this one guy who used to push my buttons so bad that we emailed for 2 1/2 years before I agreed to meet him :banghead: *whew* I'm glad it was only a coffee date. The guy is a lawyer and thought that might impress me ... :yoiks: he forgot the color of my car and started out with an accusatory tone saying that I told him something different..... sheesh ... what a JERK ... BTW ... I decided he wasn't even worth having coffee with. bye-bye looser!

6. scary ultra-right group of nutcases, see below
JOHN BIRCH SOCIETY
The John Birch Society, an organization of the radical Right, was established in Indianapolis in 1958 to combat what was perceived to be the infiltration of communism into American life. Its founder, Robert H. W. Welch, a Massachusetts businessman, named the society after a Baptist missionary who had been killed by Chinese Communists in 1945. Starting with only eleven members, the John Birch Society grew rapidly, drawing considerable support from rich conservatives; by the early 1960s it had an estimated annual income of $5 million and a membership of 60,000 to 100,000. John Birchers placed their principal emphasis on the extent to which communism had established control over the U.S. government; among those they accused of being "dedicated, conscious agents of the Communist conspiracy" were President Dwight D. Eisenhower, cia director Allen Dulles, and Chief Justice Earl Warren. The society has produced an extensive list of publications, offered cash prizes for college essays on topics like the impeachment of Warren, and maintained that the United States must become as conspiratorial as the communists in order to combat their subversion of American society.

7. A "dear friend" set me up with a guy; the only blind date I ever had
(although he knew what I looked like). He asked her to get us together, apparently.

This guy was a Ted Nugent wannabe. He loved bowhunting, deep red politics, country music (it's okay for some, but decidedly not my taste) and being a general blowhard.

I never thought I'd skulk out on a date, but this one I just had to. We had nothing at all in common, and he did all the talking. About politics and hunting, of course.

Check please!

I'm happily married to a left-leaning moderate now, but I used to attract the most red types you can imagine; mostly guys in the financial industry. I'm so glad I met my husband!

8. well not really a date from hell
but after the first date she called me every frickin day! Then on second date, she comes over to watch a movie, I get a call from someone I have not heard from in ages, go outside to get their number and she storms off. I'm pretty much like :wtf: and just let her go. Shes a little nutty for sure. And no there was no third date.

9. Where do I begin?
I think the worst would have to be the guy who on our first (and only) date joked about how we were in a great place to hide a body. I had known him for a month before hand and he seemed normal. It was probably just awkwardness but still...:scared:

10. ugh
Mine involves my dog being in heat, the police showing up because a neighbor complained that the dog was outside and barking ... and lots of chasing the dog with a mop. And one foreign exchange student sitting around the corner in the living room laughing so hard at the situation that she had tears streaming down her face.

12. We were introduced by mutual friends.
We met at a dinner party and set a date for about a week after that. I drove almost 2 hours to see her. We had dinner and went to a movie and the whole night she was like a different person. When we first me she was bubbly and cheerful, very humorous. But on the date I couldn't get a rise out of her at all. We went back to her place and ended up watching TV where she proceeded to fall asleep, but not in my arms at all. I woke her up and we said our goodbyes with nary a peck on the cheek, or a smile for that matter. I call her a couple days later wanting to talk and then she dumps it on me. It turns out that right after she met me she met another guy and they had already had a date before I did. So she dumps me on the phone.

Fast forward about 6 months. All this time she was seeing this guy she was driving 2 hours down to see him. Turns out he lived in my neighborhood. Anyway, with no warning at all and no notice to her, he packs and leaves for Fargo. It was kiss my ass honey goodbye.

That was when I started hearing from her again. She wanted to start over. I told her no. She dumps me for a heel then wants me back? NO. FRIGGING. WAY. Not with me.

26. I was still in my teens
and I asked a guy out who worked in the mall (he was 20 I believe). We went to an amusement park, but he cried the whole time because his brother had broken up with his girlfriend, who this chap saw as an older sister.

We never went on any rides, we barely got past the gates. We spent the whole time on a grassy hill, him pouring out his guts to me.
