After fighting with the military over a pay issue for the past two months, and going all the way up my former chain of command to no avail, I've decided to write my Congressman, to see if there's anything he can do. I doubt that he'd be able to help me much, but it does give me peace of mind knowing that I did pretty much all I could do.
Has anyone here ever contacted their Congressman and had productive results?
(BTW, my Rep is Democrat Mike Doyle, who's a pretty nice guy. My mom met him while he was touring the steel mill she works at and was impressed by him :) )

1. I'd contact the local office. Go see them, if possible. |

and demand that you be able to talk to him/her. Don't talk to one of their staffers they will tell you that they will "pass your message along" but in reality it will probably never get to your Rep. Keep calling if they say that the Rep. is out or ask to be put on hold and tell them how much this is costing you as you are calling long distance from the Reps. home state. They want to try to please you because you are a constituent but they will give you the brush off if they think that you are a rube. Actually, right now would be a good time to see your Rep. in person as Congress is not in session and most of them are back in their home districts. Keep at them and make them remember who you are and your situation.
